Your Right to Privacy
Privacy and confidentiality in counselling and psychotherapy
Any data we hold about you is stored in a secure location and never shared with any third party. The only exception to this would be if we needed to protect you or others, and then only after we have fully discussed this with you.
We will not contact you on any telephone number, or at an address if you have explicitly asked us not to. No information about you or your therapy would ever be shared with an employer, even if you are referred to us by one.
All discussions in counselling and psychotherapy are confidential, although there are some legal exceptions that will be explained at your first meeting. We follow the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s published code of professional ethics.
